The following projects are currently active and worked on by staff and volunteers.

Car 19 Update: This permanent exhibit in the museum is getting a facelift after nearly fifty years! This car tells the story of the origins of the Duluth, Missabe, and Iron Range starting with the founding of the Duluth and Iron Range and Duluth, Missabe, and Northern. Help us rebuild this exhibit to tell this story to new audiences and add to the learning experience. Donate to the Car 19 Update.

Gallery Car Update: The Gallery Car is the museum’s seasonal exhibit place and has not been updated in many years. Water damage to both the exterior and interior of the car is causing staining and rust. The upgrades will make this car a modern exhibit space, used year-round for both our own and traveling exhibits. Donate to the Gallery Car Update.

Restoring MNS 11: Locomotive MNS #11 is slated for cosmetic restoration to restore it to its original Minnesota, Northfield, & Southern (MNS) livery. Your support will go directly into a fund for the restoration of this special engine to its original look from 1946. Donate to the MNS 11.
