Both DMIR 193 and 318 are 1960 products of EMD as SD18 models. The Duluth, Missabe, and Iron Range No. 193 was used to pull iron ore and freight in northern Minnesota for 38 years. It was the last locomotive purchased by the DMIR to replace steam engines in the 1950s.
