    Educational Programs

The Lake Superior Railroad Museum is open for groups and school visits with a wide variety of educational material available. Including interactive games for kids of various age groups.

Some examples include: shape finding games, math activities, museum scavenger hunts, etc. These can be made available prior to your visit for instructor review and to print/distribute.

In addition, upon request we can do group tours or orientation introductions that help to maximize the educational benefit of your visit to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. Sometimes these introductions can have emphasis, such as various aspects of the S.T.E.M. goals. For example, the various fuel types of trains (coal/steam, diesel-electric, and electric) show a progression of technology and engineering through history.

When making plans for your visit, talk with a representative about emphasizing various aspects of your current curriculum and how it relates to the railroad industry and history.
