Copper Range Railroad No. 200

In the late 1850s through the 1970s, copper mining was a major industry along Lake Superior’s south shore in Wisconsin and Michigan. Purchased in 1952, the Copper Range Railroad No. 200 hauled copper ore until 1972 when it became a switcher locomotive for the White Pine Copper
mine in Michigan until its retirement in 1995.
