Day Out With Thomas at the Depot
Thomas the Tank Engine and his best friend Percy take over the whole Lake Superior Railroad Museum, August 6-8 and 13-15. Only ticket holders of this event, and museum members, will be permitted in the museum for these dates.
The world’s most popular steam engine is returning to Duluth’s North Shore Scenic Railroad for the next two weekends starting this Friday August 6th. Joining the #1 engine from the Island of Sodor will be his best friend Percy. To make certain all trains run smoothly, the railroad controller, Sir Topham Hatt, will be on property supervising all activities.
Train rides with Thomas and Percy are included with admission. Then stay for two different magic shows, two live music stages, an amazing maze, festival foods and the All Things Thomas Gift Shop. These are just some of the fun activities during a Day Out With Thomas on the North Shore Scenic Railroad in Duluth at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.
To insure a safe event, all activities, except the Gift Shop, which is optional, have been moved outside with plenty of open space for social distancing. Sanitizing and cleaning are priorities and a professional staff of car and location cleaners will be working tirelessly to insure touch surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. Should guests wish to they can tour the Lake Superior Railroad Museum and St. Louis County Depot. It’s FREE with your Thomas wrist band.
This is the largest fund raiser of the year for the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, a volunteer run organization that was voted by USA Today as the “BEST Transportation Museum in America.” In addition, upwards of 20,000 friends of Thomas will attend the events over the next two weekends and that equates to a local economic impact of $8.5 million.
