The Oliver Mining Company No. 900 was likely the first diesel-electric locomotive used on the Mesabi Iron Range. It was used to haul iron ore out of the extensive mines of northern Minnesota. It began its operation in 1940 and worked in the Hibbing-Chisholm district of the Oliver Mining Company.
